Internships and Fellowships  

Equip individuals to overcome obstacles caused by poverty and break the poverty cycle in their lives. Learn as you work with experienced Christian professionals who will sharpen and encourage you. Grow as you live in the city of Nashville or Franklin, TN.  Join the Begin Anew team in creating justice for the poor in a location where the poverty rate (19.5%) is higher than the national poverty rate (15%).

Begin Anew Internships

Internships with Begin Anew are non-paid positions that offer hands-on experience for those interested in growing and developing ministry and professional skills in ministry to individuals and families seeking to overcome obstacles caused by poverty. Begin Anew relies on the work of its intern group to complete important tasks of responsibility. For this reason, serious intern applicants must demonstrate reliability and mature professionalism. :: Alumni Services Intern

Position Description / Responsibilities and Requirements:

Helpline Call Specialist

  • To offer supportive services to Alumni of Begin Anew.
  • Answered from the convenience of home or office. 
  • Listen, encourage, and pray with alumni
  • Refer Alumni to agencies or emergency personnel as needed
  • Document calls correctly into computer tracking system

Care Coordinator

  • Coordinate and plan activities and educational classes for graduates
  • Keep track of alumni by updating and correcting personal information
  • Engage graduates as stakeholders in the ministry and potential volunteers

 

:: Digital Marketing Intern

Position Description / Responsibilities and Requirements: 

  • Every two week post news on the Website, link this to Facebook and twitter
  • Assist with uploading links to the E-newsletter
  • Update information, pictures, video, and events each month
  • Edit and update content when needed
  • Change the 5 rotating screen once or twice a month
  • Provide marketing tips and offer suggestions in the area of remaining current in Digital Marketing

 

:: Social Work / Social Services Intern

Position Description / Responsibilities and Requirements: 

  • Oversee case management services for 1-5 students or graduates within our program
  • Mentor one student, meeting weekly for encouragement and support
  • Teach or tutor classes in one of our educational programs for students or graduates

 

:: Administrative Intern

Position Description / Responsibilities and Requirements: 

  • Assist our staff with any receptionist and/or clerical duties
  • Organize and maintain records for effective program operations

 

:: Education Intern

Position Description / Responsibilities and Requirements: 

  • Tutor one on one or small groups with High School Equivalency (HiSET) test prep in various subjects: Math, English, Writing, Social Studies, and Science
  • Teach specific curriculum to a classroom of students: HiSET, Job Skills, Life Skills, English as a Second Language, Computer, Budgeting, Health, etc.
