Colossians 3:13 states that we are to “Bear with each other and forgive one another…” God’s people are to be one because every essential doctrine of Christianity is defined by oneness - one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.
During this time of dividedness, our world would benefit to look at God’s Word and try to live by these words. At Begin Anew, we as program directors are able to live out these words as we watch the students and volunteers coming together from different countries, worlds, cultures and class.
At Williamson County this month, we are learning about the fruits of the Spirit. We gave out scarves to remind the students to clothe themselves with the fruits of the Spirit. As I took this picture, it was a great reminder that these ladies come together, no matter their differences, in their mutual love of Christ. These ladies, representing Mexico, Peru and Iran, are living out the words in Colossians, bearing with one another and our differences. That is what I most love about the ministry of Begin Anew - Christ’s love shines through each student, volunteer and employee. I pray that we will all learn this year to bear with one another, forgive one another and love each other through Christ.
