Begin Anew’s fundraising event on April 6th celebrated individuals working on The Next Chapter in their lives. Honorary Chair, Barry Booker, addressed nearly 400 guests that evening, naming each of his 11 older siblings who all received their college degrees through the guidance of their parents and Christian values. Throughout the evening, there was a consistent message that Christ’s love and the love and encouragement from His people, has helped many turn the page and begin a new chapter. Video and live student testimonies gave evidence of this. Rosa, a recent Begin Anew graduate, was asked, “What happens to you when God comes into your life?” Tearfully, Rosa said, “It’s amazing.” With the friendship and encouragement of Jackie, a 2004 Begin Anew graduate, and God’s amazing grace, Rosa came back to Begin Anew (after being gone for two years) and received her high school diploma in 2016.
Begin Anew Supporter and former Board Member, Joey Moss, wrapped up the evening saying, “Begin Anew is in the ‘hope giving away’ business”. With that, the challenge was issued to help fund The Next Chapter.
Thank you to our amazing Fundraising Committee! And thank you to everyone actively serving, financially supporting and faithfully praying for Begin Anew! Of course, we’re not finished. After 20 years of ministry service, we still have more chapters to write. We invite you to be a part of this beautiful story!
