Students must be between the ages of 18 and 56 with an income under or at the National Poverty guidelines. They must be willing to commit to 4-5 hours weekly of classroom instruction and meet one-on-one with a volunteer who will offer support and encouragement to them while they are in the program. Begin Anew will refer the individual to other services if we are unable to assist them with our programming to reach their educational and/or career goals.
A student chooses one of three program tracks — High School Equivalency, Computer and Job Skills, or English as a Second Language. Each program track consists of three semesters of class, assessments, creation of a goal plan, classroom (12 per class) instruction, tutoring, small group, and other individual services. Classes are offered at night at all locations and during the day at some locations. Free childcare is available for your children birth through 6th grade while you attend classes.
